A History
A central Val d’Isère location
In 1937, Val d’Isère began responding to a growing tourist trade. At the heart of the village, one chalet, backing on to the mountain and a little larger than its neighbours, opened its doors to the public for the first time. The Hotel Le Savoie was born.
Very soon this house, a shining example of luxury à la française, would host many well-known figures, including Queen Juliana of the Netherlands.
A family home since 1937
The vocation of the Giraud family stretches back four generations, beginning with the delights of a pastry chef and high-end caterer great-grandfather to the talents of a son who became the youngest student to enter Lausanne’s Hotel School, via the prized culinary creations of a hotelier and restaurateur grandfather.
For the Girauds, the constant quest for excellence is a family legacy, their destiny for you to enjoy.
Today, Alexandre and Jean-Baptiste Giraud head an establishment that mirrors their own ethos: cultivating the art of hospitality and faithful to the family tradition, yet promoting values in keeping with today.
